See I never thought that I could walk through fire I never thought that I could take the burn I never had the strength to take it higher Until I reached the point of no return
And there’s just no turning back When your hearts under attack Gonna give everything I have It’s my destiny
Defa followed Tasha around the camp, listening to her words, and smiling when she met new wolves. This was now her home, and she was happy to have a friend like Tasha. Defa noticed that she did not look like anyone else in the pack. She was very different, and stood taller than other wolves. She was lean and tall. These wolves were shorter, and more robust than herself. But she couldn't get Blaze off of her mind.
Defa got many different looks, but all said the same. They glared at her because she was different. Many were disgusted. Some where awed, but her mother always told her that being different was the best thing to own up to. It was awkward for her, but she loved standing out in a crowd. She looked to Tasha, and smiled at her. She was very grateful for having a friend like her, and made sure she was going to be okay walking alot being this far along in her pregnancy.
Blaze's voice still echoed in Defa's head, and she had been very attracted to him. She hoped they would be together, and have many beautiful puppies. She couldn't wipe the smile from her maw, and she melted when she heard his voice. She just hopes that they could be together.

Tasha showed Defa around the camp, and tried to make her as comfortable as possible. This was her home now; and she would need to begin to feel familiar with it. Of course, not everyone was all that friendly towards newcomers, she knew that. In time, though, they would grow to love and accept Defa as thier own.
Recognizing her discomfort under thier wary stares, Tasha suggested, "Let's go see the territory, shall we?" And she supposed that Defa silently agreed.
They exited the camp, and as they walked, Tasha told Defa of everything she needed to know about the fire pack's land. She showed her good hunting spots, such as the Moon Valley, carved of rock in an ancient river bed so long ago, which now served as the shelter for many forest animals living in the shady rocks. She paraded her around the boundaries perhaps a bit extravagantly- but she relished the company and attention of her new companion.
Tasha would wave her tail- "Here is the blood barbs, which sepparates up from the human forest, a great distance beyond it." Then, she would gesture to the river, "...and this is what divided our territory from the pack of ice, who are currently our allies. It's really quite a ruckus you missed before you came. There was a bunch of conflict over loyalties, traditions. Things that you are new to as of now. But you strike me as the kind of wolf who will settle in just fine, and you'll come to understand in no time."
The two were out for many hours, and it came to a point where Tasha grew tired of walking, under the burden of her unborn pups. She tried to remain spritely and active as she once was, energy never ceasing. Her pregnancy seemed to drain that from her, and more than anything that felt like the greatest punishment. Other mothers may feel that other sacrifices may be greater, but to Tasha she felt that the greatest difficulty was her mobility and ability to go as far as she wanted to go. Velox oftentimes chided her for straining herself too hard, but Tasha would ignore him and still try her best to conduct herself as she did before.
Despite all of this, Tasha still recognized her boundaries and knew when she needed to rest. She was hot, panting, tired and achy. All she wanted to do was rest, though she felt it shameful that she would have to force Defa to stop with her.
"I'm sorry, Defa." Tasha wheezed. "But do you mind? I need to... take a break... here, let's stop here." She whispered. They were near the edge of the river, which seemed to beckon to her, teasing her with a promise of a refreshing drink.
She seated herself near the edge, and plunged her muzzle into the water, lapping madly to satiate her thirst. A strange sensation brought her back from the water, to stare at its rushing depths. She felt puzzled. The water seemed to have changed its consistency and taste since she had last visited it.
Before now, she never knew that water could really FEEL any differently, but this water here had. She couldn't exactly reason why or what may have caused it, only that it now seemed... thicker, like... it was gooey. It left a residue in her mouth and a muck on her tongue. It wasn't really extreme; only slight and hard to notice at first. She looked down into the water itself, which seemed to look the same. Nothing had changed. Except maybe the color. It was slightly murky. Cloudy, she could say. The taste was the strangest of all, a sort of taste she could not describe. It was alien to her tongue. Of everything she had eaten in her day, (and she could certainly put faith in the fact that she had eaten quite a few strange things in her puphood) she had never tasted anything like it. Whatever it was, it was met with her undeniable revulsion. Of course, the vegitation is as it had been reported before- sickly, drooping. Was there something really wrong with the water, something upriver? What could cause this?
These thoughts dampened her mood. It had gotten even worse, and only within a few days. Her insides fell empty and were replaced by growing dread, cold and hard, deep in her gut.
Tasha glanced over to Defa, sitting next to her. She seemed troubled herself, her eyes distant. "What is wrong?" She asked. "You seem to have something on your mind."
